Cleanliness

Multiple reviewers called the rooms very clean and comfortable; a few noted carpet concerns and a missing light cover, but overall cleanliness is a clear strength.

Service

Service repeatedly praised — staff named (Chuck, Fransa) and described as friendly, helpful and responsive; one issue noted with a late checkout refusal for a runner.

Location

Location repeatedly praised for convenience (restaurants, UChicago, attractions) and perceived as safe and walkable.

Room Quality

Rooms generally described as comfortable with good beds and showers, but several maintenance issues (dented door, sticking bathroom door, noisy AC, pillows, occasional carpet concerns) lowered this score.

Amenities

Breakfast offering is strong, but notable amenity negatives: pool under refurbishment/not available, expensive/limited parking, no microwave in rooms and occasional missing extras.

Convenient Location

Situated just minutes away from the University of Chicago campus and a short drive to downtown Chicago, Hyatt Place Chicago-South/University Medical Center offers easy access to key attractions.
